Little Surprises

It has been a month since my last blog. I thought I would be more into it, but it seems that I just haven't found, or made the time.

My baby is now 10 months old and getting bigger everyday. He is not walking yet, but learning other new things, like high fives, and the meaning of the words STOP and NO!

Now, on to my story of the day.

Tom and I are not overly fond of changing diapers; who is? We continually argue about who's turn it is, and who did what last. Normally, he's more of hold out and wins, cause I can't just let my baby sit there in a dirty diaper. A common phrase heard in my house is "Teddy has a surprise for you"!! Well this morning, he did have a surprise for me! A disgusting little surprise. After brewing up a smelly stinky stank mess, he comes crying to me for a change. So being a good mommy I ignore the foulness of it, and proceed to change to him. I open his diaper and what did i find amongst it all, but a BUMBLE BEE! Well not a real bumble bee, but a small band-aid with the Transformer, Bumble Bee, printed on it.

Sadly, my only conclusion is that the little guy swallowed the band-aid yesterday afternoon. Since that was when it was on his thumb. He had found a disposable razor in the bathroom and sliced his thumb yesterday morning. Tom had bandaged it with gauze and tape, which lasted about an hour before he ripped it off. Since we were out, I ran into CVS and bought the band-aids, and wrapped it up with Bumble Bee. That lasted about 3 hours until we realized it was gone.

I am hoping that's my last diaper surprise! At least for today.

Nine Months

My little Teddy-bear is nine months old tomorrow. Although in some ways these past months have flown by, in others, it seems like years of time has past. Every month is and has been marked with exciting new firsts; he seems to just be growing and learning in leaps and bounds. There are things I already miss, that he has already outgrown. Course, there are things I know I will not miss as he gets bigger, like teething, dirty diapers, and stinky formula. I eagerly await all the new phases and stages he will go through. He is already standing and cruising, crawling, babbling and biting! I look forward to him walking and talking. These months have been a learning experience for me and Tom as well. Everything changes when you go from being a couple, to being a family. One thing is for certain, since day one Teddy has had me wrapped around his little finger. I absolutely adore him, and love everything about him; even his grumpy moods and his constant overuse of "Da Da." Being "Ma Ma," my name only comes up when he's in need of something other than entertainment. Not to say that I am not showed love, cause I get the great big smiles, hugs, and laughs from him throughout day, everday. Speaking of smiles and laughs, his are so infectious (course all babies' are). He is so darn cute, I take photos of him nearly everday. I am so grateful for digital cameras. I have more photos of him and his first week, then there is of me and my entire childhood.
I just cannot believe that in a few months he is gonna be a year old, what's next, college?!

my first bloggy blog

Lets get started with an introduction. My name is Mandy, and I am from WV, and live in OH. My husband Tom and I were married in 2006 and welcomed our first child, Teddy, in 2008.

I met my husband on the internet of all places. Not on a dating site, or anything of that nature. We weren't out looking for love. It was purely by chance. So as the story goes, it was October of 2000. I was in my dorm room and having trouble sleeping. I got of bed and turned on my computer, and a chat program that my friend had installed earlier that day automatically opened. Before I could close it, someone im'd me and asked if I wanted to voice chat. He was from the UK, and being bored I said yes. I stuck around and listened to him talk, I could barely understand what he was saying, all I could do was laugh, cause he told me he played drums and I thought geez, I'm talking to Ringo!! He asked to see a photo, so I directed him to my webpage. He told me all about his room mate with pink hair, and a bunch of body piercings, and I thought wow that guy sounds like a wierdo. There was a repairmen at his house, and he had to give him instructions, so he had his room mate talk to me, so I wouldn't leave, while he took care of things. His room mate had never really been online before, and wasnt eager to oblige. He showed him my photo, and then he agreed to talk to me. Maybe if the repairman had been late, or Tom didnt agree to talk to me, then things would have been different, but as it stands, I married the room mate.
